From childhood to "old man", the time to freshen up
Le Miroir is a short film which we wrote and directed in 2010. It tells the story of a man - in the sense of the human being - which passes from childhood to the status of "old man", the time to freshen up.
A full set was built in a studio in Lausanne to create the bathroom.
Through an intensive five-day shoot, we faced many challenges ranging from: directing kids, POV camera moves, movement symmetry and make up marathon sessions. Up to 50 takes were needed to “nail” each scene of the film.
Although the reflection’s trick was practically an actual hole in our set, many hours were spent in post production to add texture, stickers and cracks to the mirror’s plane.
